Effects and Predictions of Total Solar Eclipse

There is no evidence that eclipses have any physical effects on humans. However, eclipses are known to be capable of producing profound psychological effects. For millennia, solar eclipses have been interpreted as portents of doom by virtually every known civilization. These have stimulated responses that run the gamut from human sacrifices to feelings of awe and bewilderment. Although there are no direct physical effects involving known forces, the consequences of the induced human psychological states have led to physical effects.

As there are three eclipses – Lunar Eclipse (July 7), Solar Eclipse (July 22), Lunar Eclipse August 6 – taking place in a span of 30 days some astrologers predict that there are chances of war and other political related problems. During previous occasions when there were three eclipses there were major wars. First was the Kurukshetra war in the Mahabharata and the world wars also took place after three consecutive grahams.

As per Grahan Gochaar, this Surya Grahan that occurs on 22nd July 2009, may show some bad effects on natives of some rashis (zodiac signs). It is advisable to the natives of Pushyami nakshatra (birth star constellation) and the natives of Karka (Cancer), Simha (Leo), Dhanu (Sagittarius) rashis to avoid seeing the Surya Grahan.

As per Grahan Gochaar, this grahan is most favourable and brings out good results to the natives of Vrushabh (Taurus), Kanya (Virgo), Tula (Libra) and Kumbh (Aquarius) rasis or zodiac signs. This grahan have average results for the natives of Mithun (Gemini), Vruschik (Scorpio), Makar (Capricorn) and Meen (Pisces) rasis or zodiac signs. It is unfavourable and bad for the natives of Mesh (Aries), Karkataka (Cancer), Simha (Leo) and Dhanu (Sagittarius) rasis or zodiac signs.

Some astrologers are of the view that since the eclipse is taking place in Kark Rashi (Cancer sign), people governed by this sign should be careful while driving and avoid undergoing surgery for the time being. The period is not considered auspicious for Cancer, Libra, Scorpio, Capricorn and Pieces (Meena).

Precautions for Solar Eclipse:
Astrology may seem contradictory and it varies from place to place and person to person. Though scriptures should be referred and followed but they should not be used as excuse for frivolous activities. This can lead to superstition. So the best policy is honesty and simplicity and the best option is to pray to the Supreme Being and chant a simple mantra. Stay away from fraudsters who appear in the guise of priests and astrologers offering to conduct various pujas and homas to remove evil and bad luck.
